Revealing the Invisible Heritage of Panjab manuscript about 500 years old

ਜਪਹੁ ਤ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ ਅਵਰਿ ਨਿਰਾਫਲ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥   Chant the Name of the One Lord. All other actions are fruitless. ||1||Pause||  

This manuscript dates in part from the middle of the 17th century (c.1660-75), and is therefore one of the twenty oldest known copies in existence. It was purchased by the British Museum in 1884

This world is a garden, and my Lord God is the Gardener. He always takes care of it-nothing is exempt from His Care. As is the fragrance which He bestows, so is the fragrant flower known. ||5|| ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਵਾੜੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਲੀ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ਖਾਲੀ ॥ ਜੇਹੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਪਾਏ ਤੇਹੀ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਾਸੂ ਵਾਸੁ ਜਣਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥

One whose bonds are cut away joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.Those who are imbued   with the Love of the One Lord, O Nanak, take on the deep and lasting color of His Love. ||1|| ਟੂਟੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਜਾਸੁ ਕੇ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ॥ ਜੋ ਰਾਤੇ ਰੰਗ ਏਕ ਕੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੂੜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੧॥     

ਅਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਖੰਡੋ ਖੜਗ ਤੁਪਕ ਤਬਰ ਅਰੁ ਤੀਰ ॥ ਸੈਫ ਸਰੋਹੀ ਸੈਹਥੀ ਯਹੈ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਪੀਰ ॥੩॥ As, Kripan (sword), Khanda, Khadag (sword), Tupak (gun), Tabar (hatched), Teer (arrow), Saif (sword), Sarohi and Saihathi, all these are our adorable seniors  

This saakhi has been written by Sant Baba Shaam Singh jee about 100 years ago. The source does not provide any date or time this incident happened and it does not matter when it occurred. The fact is that this saakhi coming from a Brahmgyani and therefore is 100% truth. Sirimaan Sant Bhai Ratan Singh was a Mahapurakh (holy person) and a resident of 

ਰਤੇ ਇਸਕ ਖੁਦਾਇ ਰੰਗਿ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੇ ॥ Those who are imbued with love for the Lord, are delighted by His Vision. ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇ ਭੁਇ ਭਾਰੁ ਥੀਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Those who forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are a burden on the earth. ||1||Pause|| ਆਪਿ ਲੀਏ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ਦਰਿ ਦਰਵੇਸ ਸੇ ॥    

Those who serve the True Guru, are transformed from powerless into powerful With every breath and morsel of food, the Lord abides in their minds forever, and the Messenger of Death cannot even see them. The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, fills their hearts, and Maya is their servant. One who becomes the slave of the Lord's slaves, obtains the greatest treasure. O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to th at one, within whose mind and body God dwells. One who has such pre-ordained destiny, he alone is in love with the humble Saints. ||2|| ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਾਣੁ ਨਿਤਾਣੇ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਕਵਲਾ ਸੇਵਕਿ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਸੈ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੈ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਰਸੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਿਤਾਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਭੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਬਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹ ੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ...

The Guru is cool and soothing like ice; He puts out the fire of the mindSmear your body with the ashes of dedicated serviceand live in the home of peace - make this your religious orderLet the Immaculate Bani of the Word be your playing of the flute. ||4|| ਗੁਰ ਹਿਵ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਵੈ ॥ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਬਿਭੂਤ ਚੜਾਵੈ ॥ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ॥ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਦੁ ਵਜਾਵੈ ॥

ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਆਸੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੈਠਾ ॥ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਵੁਠਾ ॥ ਸਭੇ ਸਾਝੀਵਾਲ ਸਦਾਇਨਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਦਿਸਹਿ ਬਾਹਿਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥ 3 ॥ “O True Lord! Everyone in this universe is pinning high hopes on You. You are present in the hearts of all beings. All consider themselves equal partners in receiving Your benedictions and blessings, as everyone finds You within himself in equal measure, and none perceives You as a separate Entity”.  

ਸਚਹੁ ਓਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਉਪਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਆਚਾਰੁ॥ Everything is below Truthfulness, but Truthful Living is the highest of all virtues  

ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਦਿਸੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ ਓਹੁ ਅਉਹਾਣੀ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹਿ ਨਾ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੋ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ਅਵਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਿਉ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਜੰਮੈ ਤੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਨਿਹਫਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਵਰੀ ਕਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਵ ਨ ਜਾਪਈ ਕਰਤਾ ਕੇਤੀ ਦੇਇ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ My Master is eternal. He is seen by practicing the Word of the Shabad. He never perishes; He does not come or go in reincarnation.So serve Him, forever and ever; He is contained in all Why serve another who is born, and then dies? Fruitless is the life of those who do not know their Lord and Master, and who center their consciousness on others O Nanak, it cannot be known, how much punishment the Creator shall inflict on them. ||1||    

ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਜੋ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਲੋਗ ॥ vade vade jo ḏīsėh log. Those who seem to be great and powerful, ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਰੋਗ ॥੧॥ Ŧin ka▫o bi▫āpai cẖinṯā rog. ||1|| are afflicted by the disease of anxiety. ||1|| ਕਉਨ ਵਡਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ Ka▫un vadā mā▫i▫ā vadi▫ā▫ī. Who is great by the greatness of Maya? ਸੋ ਵਡਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ So vadā jin rām liv lā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o. They alone are great, who are lovingly attached to the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ Saṯgur pūrā je milai pi▫āre so jan hoṯ nihālā. Gur kī sevā so kare pi▫āre jis no ho▫e ḏa▫i▫ālā. One who meets with the Perfect True Guru, O Beloved, that humble person is enraptured.He alone serves the Guru, O Beloved, unto whom the Lord becomes merciful.  

I heard of the Guru, and so I went to Him He instilled within me the Naam, the goodness of charity and true cleansing ਸੁਣਿ ਗਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ॥
